Who We Are

We specialize in dense Steelton, Pennsylvania corridors, mixed-use blocks, towers, and retail streets. Before storms, we walk your block to tag hydrants, bike racks, planters, and curb cuts to prevent damage. Crews operate with low-noise practices for pre-dawn mobilizations.

Expect proactive texts: mobilization, mid-storm updates, and completion times. If refreeze risk is high, we schedule overnight passes to keep entrances safe for the morning rush.

Services

Plowing & Snow Push

Curb lanes, alleys, docks, and approaches are cleared using compact plows that navigate tight turns. Snow is stacked where it will not block signage or pedestrian views.

De-Icing & Anti-Icing

We pre-treat concrete with brine and hit shady stoops or slopes with calibrated melts. Usage logs help you document sustainability and spend.

Sidewalk & Stair Care

Hand crews clear steps, vestibules, ADA ramps, bike corrals, and crosswalk entries with shovels and brooms. Fine melts keep landscaping protected.

Snow Relocation

If piles overwhelm space, we relocate or haul during low-traffic windows to keep curbs and hydrants accessible.

Refreeze Patrols

Overnight checks catch meltwater refreezing near drains, awnings, and north-facing walls.

Our Process

Pre-Storm: we map your Steelton, Pennsylvania block, mark hazards, pre-stage melts, and set communication windows. During snow, we run loops hitting entrances, ramps, docks, and crosswalk entries repeatedly. Post-Storm: we scrape down, clear drains, open fire access, and treat for overnight refreeze.

Documentation: every visit is logged with times, materials, and photos so you have proof for boards, insurers, or city inspectors.

Safety Protocols

Safety is procedural: spotters guide equipment in alleys, cones and flags mark active paths, and radios keep crews synchronized. High-vis gear, cleats, and headlamps make pre-dawn work safer for crews and pedestrians.

Slip prevention is layered: brine before, careful plow passes during, and targeted melts plus inspections after. Documentation gives you clear evidence for any inquiry or claim.

Equipment & Materials

City work relies on compact plows, skid steers with pushers, sidewalk brushes for plazas, and hand tools for delicate corners. Every unit carries spare edges, chains, fluids, and radios to stay online.

Materials are matched to surfaces: brine on concrete, treated salt for deep cold, and low-scatter blends near storefront landscaping. Weekly calibrations keep coverage even and budgets steady.

Seasonal Programs

Pick seasonal for predictable budgeting and guaranteed roll-out, or per-event for lighter winters in your Steelton, Pennsylvania block. Per-push models work when long-duration systems drop inches over hours.

We can define SLAs by zone: entrances cleared within a set window, garage ramps on a loop, sidewalks cycled every set interval during active snow. This clarity helps boards, tenants, and insurers understand exactly what to expect.

Case Snapshot

A Steelton, Pennsylvania mixed-use tower battled icy garage ramps and retail rushes. We pre-treated ramps, ran overnight loops, and stationed hand crews at storefront stairs. Result: clear ramps, on-time shop openings, and quieter mornings for residents.

A restaurant row needed snow stacks moved off curbs before evening foot traffic. We hauled in the afternoon lull and broom-finished near glass to limit scatter.

Winter Readiness Tips

Stake hydrants, racks, and curb cuts with reflective markers so plows steer clear. Move planters and sandwich boards indoors during storms to keep paths open.

Share delivery windows, valet times, and event schedules so we can schedule low-impact passes. Keep a small melt bucket at entrances for between-visit touch-ups.

Our Guarantee

We honor the response windows we set with youwhen triggers hit, crews are rolling with backup teams on deck. Escalation is automatic: more loops, longer shifts, extra machines as conditions demand.

You receive mobilization alerts, mid-storm updates, and completion photos so you always know status. If a doorway needs another pass, a single call reroutes the nearest crew. Our commitment: entrances open, slips reduced, and proof in your inbox after every storm.

Training & Staffing

Operators drill tight turns, back-dragging, and low-noise protocols for city blocks. Sidewalk teams rehearse broom finishes near glass, careful melt placement, and hazard flagging. New staff shadow veterans for several storms before taking a lead loop.

We scale staffing by storm class and density: more hand crews for pedestrian zones, more plow power for arterial pushes. Supervisors roam to check quality, capture photos, and tune routes on the fly.

Environmental Approach

Brine lets us use less salt while performing better on concrete and pavers. Low-scatter melts stay where they are needed, protecting planters and street trees.

We calibrate spreaders weekly to avoid over-application and keep budgets predictable. Tight routing cuts fuel and noise for neighbors while keeping your site clear.

After initial habitation by Susquehannock Indians and subsequent nearby Harrisburg establishment, the area was owned by the Kelker family of Harrisburg by the 1800s. The 100-acre area was chosen in 1866 by Samuel Morse Felton Sr., president of the Pennsylvania Steel Company, to begin construction of a steel mill. This particular site was favored because of the location's proximity to the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Pennsylvania Canal, and the nearby iron mine in Cornwall, Lebanon County. The land was purchased from owners Henry A. and Rudolph F. Kelker; then, steel pioneer Alexander Lyman Holley was chosen to build the mill along the Susquehanna River, which was completed by 1867 (along with a mansion for Felton), and began operation on May 15, 1868. Originally named "Baldwin" after Matthias W. Baldwin, founder of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, by 1871 it had changed to "Steel Works" after the existence of another Baldwin, Pennsylvania Post Office, and finally "Steelton" in 1879 after confusion of the Post Office with the steel mill itself. It was incorporated as a borough on January 19, 1880. The extensive steel works of the Pennsylvania Steel Company later became operated by Bethlehem Steel, ArcelorMittal, and currently Cleveland-Cliffs. Also present at one time were brickyards, a flouring mill, and machine shops.
